Aesthetic Characteristics of the Animal Landscape Art in Lingnan Gardens

摘要: 岭南园林动物景观艺术的发展历史源远流长，具有多样的审美功能，深受广大民众喜爱。然而多年来这一造景艺术日益衰落，理论上与实践中都有被遗忘的危险。对此，必须坚持生态伦理学和生态哲学的理念，采取传承与创新相结合的园林化手法，保护生物群落体系的完整、稳定和美丽，营造丰富多彩的地域性动物景观，实现人与动物的共生共荣与和谐发展，方为正道。

Abstract: The art of animal landscape in Lingnan gardens has a long history with multiple aesthetic functions and wide public acceptance. However, after the continuous declining for many years, the unique piece of art is on the fringe of being forgotten. We hope that with cross-discipline research and cooperation, upholding ecological ethics and promoting rules in animal landscape, we will be able to create an effective mechanism in protecting ecological environment and animal landscape and harmonious development.
