A Review of Nature-Based Solutions for Carbon Sequestration and Carbon Sink Increase Through Urban Green Infrastructure

  • 摘要: 【目的】合理部署基于自然的解决方案(Nature-based Solutions, NbS)成为全球应对气候变化的前景方法之一。梳理NbS背景下城市绿色基础设施在固碳增汇领域的相关研究进展,对于促进城市生态系统的可持续发展具有现实意义。【方法】以Web of Science核心数据库为来源,使用文献计量法对2008—2023年相关研究文献进行可视化分析,总结当下研究发展概况、国际合作、主题热点与前沿趋势等。【结果】近年来,基于城市绿色基础设施进行固碳增汇的自然解决方案引起了学界广泛的研究兴趣。美国、中国和部分欧洲国家为主要的高产国家,呈现出密切的合作网络。相比于综述型文献,研究型文献占据主导地位,且多使用定量方法评估局部和城市尺度绿色基础设施的碳汇效能;定性方法有助于协调多方利益相关者需求,是辅助城市规划决策的重要途径。主题热点包括探索城市绿色基础设施固碳增汇的量化方法、影响机理与优化布局,以及通过明确工作框架推进NbS理念在城市规划领域的主流化。【结论】未来应统筹直接固碳与间接减排的双重效能,注重碳汇潜力与其他生态系统服务功能的协同发展,并进一步扩大绿色基础设施作为自然解决方案在城市生态系统中的规模与效益。

     

    Abstract: Objective The strategic deployment of Nature-based Solutions(NbS) is emerging as one of the promising methods for addressing climate change worldwide. Reviewing the research progress of carbon sequestration and carbon sink through urban green infrastructure in the context of NbS holds pragmatic significance, as it contributes to fostering the sustainable development of urban ecosystem.Methods Based on the Web of Science Core database, this research employs bibliometric methods to conduct a comparative analysis of relevant research literature. The aim is to summarize the current state of research development,international collaborations, thematic hotspots, and frontier trends.Results Over the past decade, there has been significant research interest in NbS for carbon sequestration and carbon sink increase through urban green infrastructure, especially in the USA, China, and several European countries, and a close and extensive research collaboration network has been established. As to the type of literature, research literature occupies a dominant position relative to review literature, mostly employing quantitative methods to assess the carbon sink benefits of urban green infrastructure at local and urban scales. Qualitative methods, in turn, prove conducive to harmonizing the needs of multiple stakeholders and important for supporting urban planning decisions. Thematic hotspots include exploring the quantitative method, influencing mechanism and optimal layout of carbon sequestration and carbon sink increase through urban green infrastructure, and promoting the mainstreaming of Nb S in urban planning through establishing a clear framework.Conclusion Future research should consider the dual benefits of both direct carbon sequestration and indirect emissions reduction, emphasize the synergistic development of carbon sink potential and other ecosystem service functions, and further expand the scale and benefits of green infrastructure as a Nb S in urban ecosystems.
