Abstract: The practice course Classical Garden Survey is an essential part of the practice in a landscape architecture education program, which is an extension of history, theory, planning design, measuring, and graphic presentation as well as the fundamental of landscape design methodology. The landscape architecture program at Chongqing University pays attention to the development of the practice educational system. The course Classical Garden Survey is an innovation based on experience of the traditional survey course. It intends to establish a survey-research model that will expand the depth and breadth as well as help student develop comprehensive ability.
