Theatre and Ritual: Urban Public Space and the Publicness Thereof from the Perspective of Origin

  • 摘要: 当代语境中,伴随着虚拟空间繁荣和资本全球化导致的公共空间衰落,建立公共属性的媒介不再限于物理空间之中。为了阐释物理空间的不可替代性,辨析了公共空间的3层含义,并通过追溯公共空间在起源意义上的物理空间原型——剧场,以及行为模式原型——仪式,探讨了公共空间建构公共性的作用机制,提出“空间”“行为”“情感”的三元关系。进而提出:剧场衍生而出的公共空间作为承载这种关系链条的物理容器,起到了沟通物质世界与精神世界的媒介作用。

     

    Abstract: In the contemporary context, along with the decline of public space due to the boom of virtual space and the globalization of capital, physical space is no longer the only source of media for establishing public attributes. In order to interpret the irreplaceability of physical space, this research identifies three layers of meaning regarding public space, and by tracing the physical space prototype of public space in the sense of origin (theatre), and the behavior model prototype of public space (ritual), explores the action mechanism of public space in constructing publicness, and proposes the triadic relationship of “space”, “behavior” and “emotion”. On this basis, the research further proposes that as a physical carrier of the aforesaid relationship chain, public space derived from theatre can act as a medium to bridge the material world and the spiritual world.
