Abstract: This study focuses on settlement update, through the summary of the relevant theory and practice at home and abroad, it proposes the target of settlement update, and tries to put forward a settlement update pattern of which the core objective is “livable pastoral”. Zhejiang Lanxi Huangpen Village Renew Project is stated as the main argument, through the village renew means-the featured point driven, rural community building, infrastructure upgrading, the ecological landscape upgrading and so on in different scales under the update thinking and operation, we hope to argue this settlement update operation’s feasibility and rationality, and to explore the main problems and coping strategies in the process of the renewing project, through which we hope to provide meaningful reference for the settlement renew of the broad suburban villages.
