"Edible·Healing·Scenery": A Case on Vegetation Characteristics of Lingnan Traditional Village Living Space in Zhaoqing Jiaoyuan Village

The vegetations of living space in traditional village are closely linked with villagers' daily life. Jiaoyuan village in Zhaoqing, Guangdong province is chosen as the research object to analyze the "edible and healing" function and local landscape values of vegetation resources by field investigation and interviews. The present situation of the vegetation and the application features on living space were investigated and analyzed from the TCM of Lingnan and TCM health care theory. The application status of vegetation edible and healing upon the living space includes three levels: Tea-drinking prevention of disease,diet therapy recuperation, trauma or disease. At the same time, the local landscape value of vegetation is discussed: materiality and spirituality. The vegetation characteristic of "edible, healing and landscape" and the application system upon Lingnan traditional village living space is illuminated preliminarily. The deep relationship between the vegetation and the villagers' daily health care on traditional village living space is revealed, which offers some reference system for regional health landscape of contemporary living environment.
