Analysis of Evolution of Tiger Hill’s Landscape Construction Techniques from Spring and Autumn Period to Song Dynasty

Tiger Hill is an important scenic spot in the city of Suzhou in east China. Its development has never been broken off since the Spring and Autumn Period. The accumulated rich literature and historical materials and relics have made it possible to study the course of its development from a natural mountain to a famous scenic spot. This paper analyzes the achievements of Tiger Hill in the Song Dynasty, and regards the Song Dynasty as the middle node of the development process, taking the Spring and Autumn Period to Song Dynasty as the research scope. Fully excavating historical data, and verifies the sequence of more accurate scenic spots formed in this period. On this basis, it explores the five key stages of the landscape background, the practice of the landscape, the method of rationality and the characteristics of the landscape. It finds that the Tiger Hill changed the direction of landscape construction twice from the Spring and Autumn Period to the Wei and Jin Dynasities, due to the change of ownership. After the establishment of the rational direction as a scenic spot, it developed in the Tang and Song Dynasties from focusing on the outside to emphasize the internal situation, improved the tactics constantly, and eventually matured in the Song Dynasty.
