The landscape of anthropology has increased in English-speaking countries since the 1990s and was introduced into Japan and China at the beginning of 21 century. Some anthropologists started shedding light on landscape because it was considered to be an important analytical concept. This paper aims to reconsider how anthropology has covered the concept of landscape and created new academic horizons and to point out what kinds of problems are confronting academic realms. In doing so, I attempt to rethink the significance and possibility of using the concept of landscape in contemporary anthropological contexts.
