Progress and Prospect of Landscape Cognition Research Incorporating the Perspective of Ergonomics

The landscape cognition of people is of great value to the optimization of urban green space. However, relevant researches are supported mainly by subjective cognitive experience rather than objective measure methods. This research introduces the perspective of ergonomics, defines landscape cognition objects under the ergonomics coupling system, summarizes the techniques for building and measuring human factors scenarios, sorts out relevant researches on landscape cognition coupled with ergonomics, and finally determines three types of research contents: 1) generation mechanism for landscape cognition; 2) subjective evaluation of landscape cognition; 3) behavioral effects of landscape cognition. Based on this, the research analyzes the development trend of landscape cognition research incorporating the perspective of ergonomics from the three dimensions of city, community and site, and clarifies the importance of carrying out such researches.
