As an important profession to undertake the task of landscape design in Shanghai Disneyland, to understand the connotation and operation of AD is critical to comprehend the landscape construction in Disneyland. By analyzing the similarities and differences between the Area Development and Landscape Architecture, this paper clarifies the conceptual category and core demands of AD, which could help to summarize the characteristics of landscape construction in Disneyland and may provide reference for the construction of theme parks and even other types of parks in China.
